Diving from a hard boat with diver lift. A maximum of 12 divers.
We sail from Seahouses and have three days booked on the boat with 2 dives a day. The exact location of the dives will depend on tides, weather and qualifications and preferences of the those on the trip. Wherever we go, you will be sure of stunning underwater scenery, lots of life (especially crustacea). We fully expect great visibility and the opportunity to swim with seals. Seals are inquisitive and friendly, some will cruise by at a distance but others will come up to divers and interact directly with them. They love to nip fins and will sometimes be stroked too.
Schedule:
We leave Mold early on the first day (Sunday 13th August), arrive in Beadnell in time for a shore dive in the afternoon to check weighting and to meet the local wildlife.
Please plan your route to allow time to find the accommodation then get sorted for the first dive at about 16:00 (actual time to be confirmed later and depends on tides and weather)
On the second day (Monday) we board our boat from the quay at Seahouses for two dives (bring some snacks for the dive interval), then back to base to wash gear, discuss the day, write our logbooks and head off to the pub.
The third day (Tuesday) is a repeat of the second but there will be an option for an afternoon shore dive from Beadnell point and the wreck of the Yewglen,
On the fourth day (Wednesday) we will pack our cars before heading out to dive again from the boat but on our return to Seahouses we will head off back home. There is a carvery in Carlisle that is good for an evening meal then back home late in the evening for a well- deserved sleep.
Costs: £55 per room (Sleeps 2) per night for accommodation, £60 per head per day on the boat, £5 per fill of air. Then add your own food and travel costs.
Additional nights accommodation can be arranged by booking direct with Farnes diving services .
Great opportunity for non-diving partners and family to have a break too. There is so much to do in this beautiful part of Northumberland. Golden beaches, Magnificent castles (Bamburgh, Alnwick, Dunstanburgh, Lindisfarne), Gardens at Alnwick and miles of open countryside.
Evening meals can be taken in the local pubs: the Craster Arms and the Beadnell Towers. Both pubs serve excellent food & beer and are just a short walk from our accommodation. The town of Seahouses is just a couple of miles away and has lots of very good fish and chip shops and other takeaways as well as a supermarket (with cashpoint) for alternative dining opportunities.
This trip is open to all qualified divers with diving experience in the last two months.
If three days is too much for you and you would prefer just two then talk to the DO (Jon Partington).
If you would like to extend your stay at the accommodation to enjoy a longer holiday then speak to me and we can book more rooms, but note that they book up quickly so don’t delay.
To join the trip please book your place on this page. Then pay your non-refundable deposit of £50 to the club account ( Where you pay your subs) with the reference Farnes and your name. Once you have done this then we will confirm your booking.
