Try Dives with the Golden Lion Sub Aqua Club.
This is your opportunity to try a unique experience. You will join other club members as we meet for our regularly training and social session in the pool viewing area upstairs in Mold Leisure Centre at 8.00pm. After completing some paperwork and confirming that you have no medical issues that might prevent you from diving you will spend some time with an instructor learning about the equipment you will be using in the pool.
At about 8.45 we will go down to the pool to get changed and you will be issued with the equipment you will need, making sure its the right size and fits it fits you properly (The questions about age and chest size in the booking form are about making sure we have the correct equipment available for you). You do not need to bring any equipment beyond your own swimming things and a t-shirt to help keep you warm in the pool. If you do have your own personal snorkelling stuff then feel free to bring it. We will aim to give you 45 minutes of pool time with a fully qualified and experienced instructor. You will be guided through the experience and a pace which suits you as the whole experience is about having a taste for the extraordinary sport of scuba diving. You will experience the feeling of weightlessness, the ability to move freely in three dimensions and the remarkable sensation of breathing underwater.
The fee for the experience is £25. After your dive experience we will give you a certificate to mark the occasion and talk to you about how to join the club and start your diving adventure if you wish, although there is no obligation at all to continue with us. You may also wish to join us for a drink in the pub.
Try dives are available to anyone over the age of 10. Please note that we are unable to offer further scuba training to students under the age of 14 or who have certain medical issues (principally conditions linked to respiratory or circulatory systems or where the is a risk of becoming unconscious underwater).
